Artist & Songwriter Submission Policies

We will be glad to listen to your music if you follow our simple policies. Let us know if you're a songwriter or Artist.

COUNTRY - A little left of straight country. But, if you're country with a twist of something like soul, blues, rock, whatever, send it on...but it has got to have Soul!! Alota Soul!!! Listen to George Jones or "The Exciting Wilson Pickett" or Hank Williams, "Your Cheatin' Heart". You'll get the idea.

ROCK - If you're the coolest local band in your area, but you think you've got SOMETHING DIFFERENT, send us your stuff. You should be able to write songs and back it up live.

POP - We're looking for singers in their late teens or early twenties. You don't have to write songs but you'd better have the talent vocally. We don't want to hear "Black Velvet", "Crazy" or "The Greatest Love". It's been done...

RAP - It better have a melody and some singing too...

BLUES or SOUL - If you're doing something Really Great with anything bluesy or soulful send it on!

R&B - give us some funk or Old School R&B with a new twist and we'll listen all day,

Great Songs - And of course we are always looking for great songs in any genre.

We know there is talent out there that can't be put into a genre...we're looking for you. If you're the next Train, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow or Prince, send us your stuff. We'll check it out. But don't expect a response unless it shows great potential! So don't rush and send your package until you think it is really great. We'll be here. We've been here for 45 years!

Here are some ideas when sending music to us or any other successful music business companies:

DO NOT call and ask what we thought of your stuff.

DO NOT call and ask when you can get your stuff back (you won't) so don't send your only copy!

DO NOT call and ask for opinions and advice.

DO NOT email mp3s or send links. It's only a waste of time. We don't listen to those.

ALWAYS label your music with your name and the co-writer(s) name(s) and contact info.

CDs only, please!!!! It's the new millennium and we don't have cassette players anymore!

Just look at it as if you were a farmer planting seeds. If the fruit grows and ripens, you'll win. All the conversation in the world will probably not help (Very True). We just don't have the time to have one on one conversations with everyone. There aren't enough hours in the day. And, to be quite honest with you, most of the stuff is so far away from being marketable that no matter what we say the chances are worse than slim.

So, best to put your best stuff out there and don't torture anyone with follow up calls. If we want you, you can be sure we will be all over you.

If you follow these guidelines we assure you that your songs will be heard.

Again, we will NOT respond to submissions unless we are interested in working with you and your music.

Keep in mind that we are a small, independent company, so to compete we must sign the best of the best. If you don't hear from us, it doesn't mean anything except you're not right for us at that time. Please do not take it personally.
